Ariana Grande grips her fans’ attentions yet again with her most recent release, ‘7 rings,’ with its debut at 11pm CST on Thursday.

Grande’s audience hasn’t been able to catch a break from all the heat coming from her three releases after ‘Sweetener’ hit the shelves on August 17th, 2018. After former boyfriend Mac Miller’s death and Grande’s split from fiance Pete Davidson, Grande was filled to the brim with emotion which she transformed into inspiration. The star tweeted that she wrote a whole album in one week after these two major events.

She released ‘thank u, next’ on November 30th, 2018 which topped Billboard’s Hot 100 list for numerous weeks, making Grande reach the biggest streaming week ever for a woman with 93.8 billion streams for the week ending in December 6th, 2018. ‘Thank U, Next’ will also be the title for her next album.

‘imagine’ was unveiled December 14th, 2018 and features a sultry vibe. The ballad currently has 24 million views on YouTube and has all of us imagining about the perfect love.

‘7 rings’ dropped with not only audio, but with a music video littered with pink, neon, luxury, and even more pink. Six of Grande’s close friends were featured in the lush video, hence the name ‘7 rings.’

Grande sings about indulging and treating-yourself, but with a classic touch. The melody of ‘My Favorite Things’ from ‘The Sound of Music’ was thrown into the mix, paired with renewed lyrics and rapping. You’ll be making this bop your new anthem, keeping it on repeat through the day and night.

The song has already generated 12.9 million views within 15 hours of being posted on Grande’s YouTube channel. It is also available on iTunes and Spotify.

In under 24 hours, controversy has already arisen regarding Grande “copying” rapper Princess Nokia’s song ‘Mine,’ released in 2017. The rapper called Grande out on Twitter with a video of her reacting to the new song. Although the two songs sound suspiciously similar, Grande added twists to her new single that are nowhere to be heard in ‘Mine.’

Grande is most definitely making 2019 her year after a tragic 2018 full of loss and devastation. She started to turn the other cheek even before 2018 came to an end, all to prepare for her best year yet. With three singles under the singer’s belt, Grande’s got 2019 in the bag.
