On September 15th, our school hosted the Festival of Bands competition. For this competition, the bands do not compete against each other they instead perform for judges and are given a score of gold, silver, or bronze. They can also receive achievements in things like color guard, visuals, and or musicals.

Merrillville High School’s band, The Band of Pirates, played pop music songs, such as “Havana.”

Despite its small size, Calumet New Tech High School earned a silver medal.

Crown Point’s band, Royal Regiment, won gold and awards for musical and visual achievements.

Besides Crown Point, our own Marching Trojan Pride was the only band to earn gold.

Our band also won achievements in visuals and color guard.
