Christmas break is over, and that means students will have to get their mind focused back on reality. It is sometimes hard to get back into the school mood after a long break, but there are different ways it has been done.

“I constantly keep myself in the high gear and wait for whatever is thrown at me,” said junior Arif Pitts. On the other hand, other students are still do not feel that break is over.

“I am definitely not in the school mood after this Christmas break,” said junior Caroline Reagan. Another way students feel that helps with the motivation of going back to school is when the teachers ease into the learning process instead of jumping straight back in.

“I would have liked my teachers to ease back into learning again, but I knew how my teachers are so I slowly got ready for them again,” said junior John O’Connor, “But at least only a few jumped back in, and hard too. My other teachers gave us more free time at the end of class.”

Some teachers are showing movies about the next topic that their class will be learning. This is a great way to ease the stress of students and get them ready at the same time.

“I like what Mr. Kirincic is doing right now. He’s showing a movie and easing his way into World War II instead of some teachers throwing four or five assignments already,” said Pitts.
After finals and a long break, it is definitely hard to motivate yourself to get back to work. Getting help from a friend or teacher might also be a good idea. They can help motivate you or help with any new material you might have trouble on.

“The last time we were in school was finals. There should be no reason for us to have stress right away,” said junior Morgan Vanderlee.

It may seem difficult to set your mind back on school again, but with the help of friends, teachers, and yourself, it is possible to do. The best option is to work your hardest and remember that summer break is right around the corner.
