When winter comes around, it is all about staying warm but also staying stylish. During the holidays, teens wear clothing that is popular. For teen boys, Nike, Adidas, and Jordans seem to be popular shoes this year. Vans, Nike, Adidas, and Chuck Taylors (Converse) are popular with the girls, as well as boots..

Sophomore Eris Grubb said, “For girls, they typically wear leggings and UGG boots to match. I think that guys have the same trend as me, personally, wearing baggy sweaters and skinny jeans with sneakers.”

Male fashion trends are a bit different. For the cold holiday season, the popular trends for boys seem to be sweaters, ties, jeans, sweatpants, leather jackets, joggers, and sneakers.“I see a lot of jeans, sweatpants, and sweatshirts, now that it’s cold out,” said senior Wyatt Kucginski.

Senior Estacia Alejandro said for girls, “UGG boots, leggings, PINK outfits are really in, and velvet is in, too.”

Trends this year have not changed much or boys. As the temperature dips, girls are wearing clothing that is stylish, but still keep them warm, such as sweaters, knee high boots, scarves, Converse shoes, velvet dresses, long socks, and “ugly” holiday sweaters.

According to Highland’s Famous Footwear manager Lindsay Darling, “Every two to three years, the Christmas trends change. The popular colors for this year are rose gold and burgundy.”

For this Christmas, teens are getting cozy and comfortable. These are the fashion trends are rocking around the Christmas tree this year.
