The primary organ in your body that keeps you going is your heart. February was ” Go Red for Women” month, which was supporting women who were being affected with heart diseases. There are several types of heart conditions that can strike at any age. It is accountable by both men and women, being the leading death cause in women, claiming  one life every minute . However,  Illinois has one of the most comprehensive heart programs.  There are a lot of things you must do to keep your heart healthy so you can avoid these diseases.

One thing you can do for your heart is to eat better foods. Eat foods that provide aid to  your heart, such as oatmeal, salmon, avocado, olive oil, nuts, berries, legumes, spinach, flex-seed and soy.  All these things will serve to strengthen your heart.

Here are some tips for a healthier heart and a healthier life style: Know your heart health numbers, target your triglycerides, go for nuts and plant ergosterol, de-stress your heart, get heart healthy social support, volunteer to fight heart disease, strengthen your heart with weight training, measure your waist size to gauge your heart health, reduce your blood pressure, and sleep to your heart content.

If you feel like you are having problems with your heart make sure you to visit your doctor right away. It could be a life or death situation.
